Summer Intern

Mixon Hill is seeking students that are interested in gaining experience in object-oriented software methods, multiple programming languages, and system engineering processes. Mixon Hill consults with many different public transportation agencies and frequently uses a variety of open-source software for servers and software applications. Candidates with some experience using Java, C#, C++, and JavaScript are preferred.

Summer interns perform the following job duties:

 • Formulate and define system scope and objectives
 • Develop or modify moderately complex to complex information systems based on requirements
 • Prepare system design descriptions from which programs will be written with consideration for
   the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
 • Create or modify software in accordance with internal and external standards
 • Other duties as required

Requirements

Summer interns must be:

• Confident to learn and work on applications systems analysis and programming activities
• Self-motivated to expand skill set
• Able to meet deadlines
• Able to take direction, and possess interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Able to comprehend, modify, and create documentation as needed

Potential summer interns must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in a 4+ year Engineering or Computer Science program from an ABET accredited University and have completed at least two years of university education. All candidates must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
